Animal Art | A Whale Toward the Sun

Proportions are an illustration. Confirm the listed width × height before ordering.

A Whale Toward the Sun lifts a blue whale through a field of warm yellow. The long body points upward and left, while turquoise fins and the curved tail spread into the open space below a pale round sun.

There is no shoreline or visible water to explain the ascent. This unexpected setting gives the familiar sea animal a dreamlike lightness, with a simple silhouette and sunny contrast suited to a children’s room or a playful living space.

About the Artist

Meet Vera Jiang

A familiar pose can become something unexpected in Vera Jiang’s paintings. She simplifies the figure, shifts a proportion, or places a small detail where it changes the mood of the scene. Faces and clothing are described with economical marks, while the surrounding space helps set the pace. Her work moves between everyday observation and imagined situations, giving the viewer enough clues to form a story of their own.
