Sailboat Art | Up the Foaming Diagonal

Proportions are an illustration. Confirm the listed width × height before ordering.

Up the Foaming Diagonal places a white sail high in the picture, where deep blue ripples gather around a small dark hull. Below, an expansive white area climbs from the lower left in broken, scalloped edges.

The tall arrangement emphasizes the distance between open foreground and boat. Pale ridges along the foam and scattered white marks on the blue keep the two halves connected without adding a separate horizon.

About the Artist

Meet Clara Vellin

Clara Vellin finds a natural structure in harbors: upright masts, low boats, and reflections that loosen their shapes in the water. She arranges these elements with a light touch, allowing the scene to stay open. Small accents of color can mark a hull or a distant building. Her brushwork becomes softer around the reflections, giving the water a gentle movement and the boats a clear place within it.
